Italian Alps

For our fall on-snow camp, we flew over and stayed in Mals, Italy for a few days to get over the jet-lag before we headed up to the Stelvio glacier. The running was amazing in the surrounding area and we ran over some cool peaks.

Then we headed up to the glacier. Some days were sunny and slushy, other days were icy and cold, and some days we could hardly see the ground in front of our skis. This shot was from a day that was somewhere in between.

The skiing was really good, but it was pretty hard to move quickly since we were up close to 11,000ft elevation. The camp was good though, giving us a chance to get our skiing muscles back in shape and hopefully get a bit of a training boost coming down from altitude.

Now I'm back in Maine to finish off this fall's training.
