It seems each year as though the fall is colder than the winter. I walked outside this morning, 'twas a balmy 25
°F, I ran back upstairs and jumped into bed. Usually for any weather between 0
°F and 30
°F (during ski season) I would be perfectly comfortable wearing one base layer and a thin jacket. Today I wore two base layers, a high-vis tee, a fleece vest, and a neon jacket. And I was cold. I can't wait to be fully acclimated to the cold, which through the if-this-then-that principle would mean that it will have been cold out for quite some time and therefore we will be skiing.
We have just finishing up the first of two intensity blocks which we will be doing before we head out to West Yellowstone mid-way through next month. This first one was a nine day block starting with the Lobster Roll roller-ski race last weekend and ending with an OD tomorrow. It involved intervals every other day, or possibly twice some days. I had to sit a few sessions out as I am trying to get out of a hole I've been in since coming home from Utah.

The forecast is calling for 2-4" of snow tonight and tomorrow, so we'll keep our fingers crossed that we can do some skiing tomorrow. It looks like other parts of the state and New England are getting hit a little harder, but hey, we'll take what we can get. Its always great to get on snow as early as possible! And its especially great when you can do that right out your back door. Well, we only have one door on our farmhouse, and technically its a side door... so, you go out your backdoor we'll be heading out the side.
